Flying to the UK
If
you are flying to the UK from Europe, then the best places to fly for
Aberystwyth are Birmingham, Manchester or Liverpool. Many of the budget
airlines (easyjet, ryanair, bmibaby, flybe) fly to these airports, and
at reasonable prices if you book early (looked up Barcelona <->
Birmingham for those dates and it was €160). Trains or hire cars can be
taken from all these airports and it is about three hours in each case.
If
you are coming from further afield, then you will either fly to London,
or change somewhere like Paris or Amsterdam to fly into Birmingham. The
train from London Euston to Aberystwyth takes 5 hours. The drive from
Heathrow is about the same, with Gatwick taking an hour longer. In each
case, I would not advise driving all the way on the day of landing from
an overnight flight.
Trains
You can find out UK train times on the Internet from National Rail enquiries. From London Euston or from Birmingham International (the airport), you will need to change trains at Birmingham New Street.
